Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face; that was the motto from the 2021 vintage and Mother Nature was doing the punching. That year was a struggle, and constant adjustments were necessary to just get through it. To do well, extra hard work and a little faith were a must. Not surprisingly, this vintage of Elevation Cabernet is a product of engaging all three requirements, and we were grateful to adeptly “pull it down” in the end zone for the winning score. As a result, this wine has a nervous spirit that surges around the elements of black currant, blueberry and wild raspberry. It also displays an inspiring tension that keeps the wine focussed, lively and engaging. To round it out, the resolved tannin structure is the perfect frame on which to display this ball of energy.
